Keith Haring is regarded as one of the early pioneers of urban street culture and his work lives on to this day. He often used his work as a social commentary and the foundation he set up shortly before his death from AIDS in 1990, continues his philanthropic ideals and helps to fund the fight against HIV and AIDS as well as helping other worthwhile causes.
